lost... lost... lost....

Well I looked and searched and called everywhere I could think of and I can't find our digital camera anywhere :( I am quite upset. Just about everytime I've talked to anyone about it today I've ended up in tears. I think I lost it outside the local coldstone ice cream shop. The best I can figure I set it on the table, accidentally left it there, and someone decided they would like to have a new camera.

I'm super bummed because the card inside the camera not only had one of the best pictures of Rowan and me that I've ever taken but it also had the before and after shots of Rowan's first salon haircut :( The worst part is that it wasn't even OUR camera, we were borrowing it from my sister and her husband!

Sorry Cherise and Kiel, we'll get you a new one.

going public!

Many friends and family already know and some have cleverly deduced and now we're officially announcing it, we're pregnant again!!

I'm nearing the end of my first trimester. One that has been full of nausea as well as fantastic mood swings that have left poor Logan confused and dazed. One time staring straight ahead as I sobbed uncontrollably in the passenger seat. Oh yeah, it got that bad, but there's hope. This is my 12th week of pregnancy which means next week will be the start of the second trimester and that means less nausea, more appetite, hopefully a few less tears, and I'll begin to show!!

So that's the real reason that I haven't been blogging much. I really haven't had much on my mind except the baby but I wanted to wait until the second trimester to announce the news. I know we're not quite there yet but I'm impatient and recently found out that a certain brother already knew about it which is the other reason I was waiting to go "public".

I was initially unsure of my due date so I had an early ultrasound done last month. It's pretty hard to distinguish body parts so I included a reference to help :)

At the time the ultrasound photo was taken the baby's arms and legs were quite short. The doctor actually referred to them as "buds" which made me think of a gummy bear. The baby and gummy bear are in the same position and if you're good at reading these things you can probably see the head on the right there. It's just the roundish bit that's a tad lighter than the rest. Everyone else will just have to take my word for it ;) The baby is due on or around it's uncle Ty's birthday (March 5th). I hope the end of this first crazy trimester will mean that I'll feel more up to blogging our activities and documenting this wonderful adventure!

Oh and in case you're wondering about Rowan I think he'll handle it alright... okay, I'm praying he handles it alright! He's recently discovered babies, that is he's learned to say "baby" and that they're those little squiggly things that are smaller than him and cry. I told him there was one in my tummy which confused him because I'm not really showing but he still gave my tummy a kiss. Then asked me for the next hour about a baby in his tummy and in the tummy of almost every toy animal he has. I suppose I probably should have waited to tell him about the baby in me.... I'm pretty optimistic about him accepting a new little sibling and I know he'll be a great big brother in the long run :)

Logan is in the background drawing a bath for this sticky mess who obviously enjoyed his dish of chocolate ice cream.

a smattering of photos

Last weekend we went to a ball, it was super fun but I didn't get very good pictures of us so this is what you get...

and my sparkly hair :)

The morning after, we're happy because we did not stay for drinking and dancing.
I think we were asleep by 11 :)

On the way to bring #1 babysitter Aunty "Coco" back home we got a hot dog lunch for Rowan which he decided his fish would like to share. He's saying, "Aaaaaaaaaaah".

Hot weather in Portland means playing with the hose. At first Rowan just sat on the sidelines with Max (who is scared of getting wet). While the boys engaged in... um, cooling activities...

Later one of Rowan's faaavorite people "me" (Cameron) let Rowan play with the hose too. He's a good uncle :)

These pictures are from earlier in July, I don't remember exactly when but they're good ones!

Pointing,

dancing,

A pretty good summary of how Rowan spends his time these days :)
So there you go! Pictures!

P.S. Happy birthday month to my brothers!!! I will remember you all in person and maybe on the phone and maybe on facebook but I fear perhaps not on here so I say late to one and in advance to two, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

P.P.S. Happy birthday month to Simon and Danika too! Yay August babies!!

old timey

Have you ever seen an old newspaper front page vs a newer one? The biggest and most obvious difference are the pictures, the old ones have hardly any if at all. I'm talking oooooold. That's what this post is going to be like. I've been really lame lately about even remembering where my camera is at and I don't have any good excuses, save for yesterday when northwest Washington saw the hottest day ever recorded!

So here's a quick recap of the last few weeks. After my parents and siblings left we just chilled for a while remembering how it felt to have Logan go to work and leave only two of us and a dog. It was quiet :) Around about the 10th I re-tried on my dress for the ball Logan and I are going to Friday (Jul 31st) and it was too small!!! Well I sort of freaked out, drove to Portland the next day, and bought a dress at the mall near my parents' house. It's beautiful, long, green, and beaded with iridescent beads. I love it but it's proving to be quite a challenge for me to try and coordinate accessories for. More about that later. I drove back from Portland the same day I went down returning with a ball gown and my sister Courtney.

Courtney came up to watch Rowan for me while I "counselor-ed" at my church's four day youth day camp. Camp was a lot of fun and tiring. Of course I forgot my camera there :P I did get a picture of my team which I may scan later... we'll see. Rowan did great with his auntie "Coco" while was gone during the day. They played, went shopping, watched his favorite shows, and read books. I'm so grateful for her help :) she's fantastic!

This week we've been trying to find jewelry, shoes, and a bag to go with my dress and I realized I should've started shopping much earlier. I know it will all work out but I'm frustrated with my lack of knowledge and experience when it comes to dressing up. I did find good shoes yesterday which I think has raised moral. Today I will search for just the right necklace and bag. I'm crossing my fingers...

Oh this week also we've been experiencing a heat wave. I was the hottest day on record all over the NW yesterday with temperatures around 104 (F) here and 106 in Portland. I think we survived the day pretty well but last night was crazy. It was so hot (still over 90 at almost 11PM) Rowan could not fall asleep so after getting up many times to try and comfort him, trying to get him to sleep with Logan and me, getting kicked, and trying to sleep on Rowan's floor I finally remembered that we have a travel crib. Logan got it set up on my side of the bed and with the addition of another fan to our room we all slept comfortably... until about 4:30 when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. It's finally cooled down so I'm hoping writing all this will help me rest a bit before Ro gets up. I don't really know when that will be because he was up so many times in the night.

This weekend is the ball, my brother Rylan's birthday, and we'll be taking Courtney home. Perhaps I'll get back to taking pictures and sharing our lives with everyone visually... perhaps not but I'm sure once we get to Portland mom will be snapping away, she's just great like that :D

I hope you enjoyed this "old timey" post, until next time... same bat-time.... same bat-channel.

June has been soooome fun

I took way too many pictures and created far too few blog posts to cover everything we did this June (especially the last couple weeks) so I'm just going to post a random collection of Rowan pictures. He's the one who gets his picture taken the most often anyway. The little cutie :D

We travelled all around.

We got to hang out with just about everyone!
Though we weren't always thrilled about getting pictures taken with them ;)

Rowan is still in love with being outside.

He wished he could've helped more building the deck.

My mucky little bubby.

He's a big boy, carrying his own suitcase!

Here's Rowan "Mad Max" style! ;D

Being investigated by Danny (who according to Rowan sounds sort of like a lion)

Bye guys! Thanks for looking at my June "thus far" post!!

Some father and son shots :)

sheesh, I don't know what my deal is these days! I've started a number of posts in the last couple weeks and never get them all the way done and posted before it's mealtime or Rowan needs something or I see something shiny... ;) but not this time! Rowan is napping and I am going to share pictures darn it! I hope you like them :D This is just a bit of what we've been up to the last two weeks.

We spent memorial day up at Logan's grandparents' house
Rowan loves his da-dad!

Logan's birthday is two weeks after my Dad's birthday so on the week inbetween we celebrated in Portland (with Spongebob hats!)

His actual birthday we spent at home. Logan went on a mountain bike ride in the morning then came home and opened a couple presents he'd gotten in the mail. Rowan helped :)

The same day was the grand floral parade in Portland which was broadcast on NW cable news so Rowan got to "rock out" with the marching bands ;) That kid sure loves his guitar.

This past Sunday we had a picnic lunch at small local park, after Rowan had finished his french fries he really wanted to run down to the water so Logan went with him. Otherwise we probably would've had to pick him up (or fish him) outta there sopping wet. He's a good kid :)

That's about it. We've just been hanging out, enjoying having Logan home, and waiting impatiently for vacation to start (only 2 1/2 days now!)

four eyes

here they are :)

bikes and trikes

It's no secret that Rowan has inherited his father's love of bicycles :) He's even got his own fantastic, handmade, wooden, no-pedal bike which he really really likes. In fact it was one of the first things Rowan played with with Logan the first day he was home.

Rowan likes all bikes. He'll often point them out if he spots them on the street when we're out and about. He is quite enamored with Logan's bikes especially. The other day he even got his first taste of what riding the BIG bikes is like!
It was a short slow ride but Rowan was pretty thrilled.

Yup any sort of bike will attract my boy, even one with three wheels! (Yeah, I know three wheels makes a trike not a bike but go with me)
Notice what Rowan is occupied with while everyone else is playing with bubbles at our little friend Claire's early birthday party.
He was trying to get it up onto the step.

He looked so good on Claire's little trike and was so taken with it that we went on a search for one (preferably "boy colored") for Rowan to call his own. After two or three stores we found one! It's just the right size even though he can't reach the pedals yet (he tries just about every day). I'm sure his wooden bike will be used for longer but right now the plastic trike is one that he can get on and get moving all by himself.
Doing things himself is something he is really into these days ;)

It's not a huge space under the seat but his little rugby ball fits nicely. Most of the time he just opens and closes the lid for the fun of it.

This is him waving "bye bye" to me as he was just about to head off to try and get onto the dirt under the apple tree :)

This morning was a bit chilly but he was still out there.
I'm thinking this little trike was a good choice ;)

Oh and on another note I just got a call from costco! My glasses are ready!! Nearly a week before I was expecting them! I am super excited!
